Season 1 · London
Made from whatever
stayed lit.
An open independent shorts festival, screening in Furzedown, London. October 17, 2026.
Submit a film →London gets a reputation for clarity it doesn't deserve. Ask anyone who has stood at a bus stop in February. Most nights here, you are not looking at the city, you are looking at a glow coming through it: a window, a sign, a streetlamp doing its best against the wet air.
Independent film gets made the same way. Nobody sees the whole picture while they're making it; a few things stay lit, and you work from those.
It doesn't matter whether what lit your way was instinct, luck, a favour from a friend, or a piece of software you tried because nothing else was working. What matters is that you got the shot, and you got here.
AI Indie Cinema London is open to any film made that way: any genre, any budget, any process, made anywhere. If artificial intelligence was part of how you found your way through, tell us where. If it wasn't, that's just as welcome.
There is one submission fee, $11, the same whether you send it in September or you send it in October. Fog does not clear faster because you were first in line waiting for it, and we are not going to charge you extra for taking longer to find your way to a finished film.
We screen on Saturday, October 17, 2026, doors 4:00 PM, at The Living Room Place Furzedown, 19 Thrale Road, London SW16 1NS: the selected films, a Q&A with the directors who can make it, and time afterward that isn't rushed.
Bring us what you could see. We'll bring the room.
Awards
Eight prizes. One dedicated to the tools, the rest to the film.
Before You Submit
- What we want. Any genre, any format, fiction or documentary, finished on or after June 1, 2024. If you can defend why it exists, send it.
- Runtime and file. 20 minutes or under. Digital file, MP4 or MOV, 1080p or better.
- If AI was involved, tell us where. Writing, images, voice, score, the cut, wherever it sat in the process. Not a requirement, just tell us if it happened.
- Language. English, or carrying English subtitles if it isn't.
- Already screened somewhere? That's fine. We don't require a premiere.
- More than one film? Send them all. Each one is its own entry, its own $11.
- The rights part. You need to actually hold them, all of them, enough to let us put the film in front of a room on October 17.
- Last word. We can say no without explaining why, and we build the running order ourselves.
